We then divided into six groups and took digital cameras around the school yard to discover examples of the Fibonacci Number Sequence in Nature.

0, 1, 1, 2,3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, 233, 377, 610, 987, 1597…

One group discovered the sequence when they counted the petal on the Black Eyed Susan. Other groups found it on the pinecones and sunflowers.sunflower The sunflower head displays florets in spirals of 34 and 55 around the outside.
